SEEDS Wins Phi Beta Kappa Award in Science!





Fantastic news - The Phi Beta Kappa Society has honored The Triumph of Seeds with its 2016 Book Award in Science!  The award is bestowed annually for outstanding contributions by scientists to the literature of science, and was first awarded in 1959.  Read the full award announcement here.

SEEDS a Finalist for Washington State Book Award




Great news!  The Triumph of Seeds has been chosen as a finalist for the 2016 Washington State Book Award, an honor bestowed each year on a book by a Washington writer in each of eight categories.  Seeds is a finalist in the history/gerneral nonfiction group, just as Thor's previous book Feathers was in 2012.  The winners will be announced at a public celebration on October 8th at the Seattle Public Library.  Read the full press release here.

SEEDS Shortlisted for Phi Beta Kappa Award



The Triumph of Seeds has just been honored as one of five titles shortlisted for the 2016 Phi Beta Kappa Science Book Award!  Presented annually since 1959, the award recognizes outstandingn contributions by scientists to the literature of science.  The winning title will be announced on October 4.  Read more about the Award here.

Thor Talks Children's Books in the Press


Thor discussed the process of writing children's books in two recent interviews while on the road promoting BARTHOLOMEW QUILL.  The Spokesman-Review featured Thor and BARTHOLOMEW as the family Pick of the Week (read it here), while The Seattle Times book critic Mary Ann Gwinn spoke to Thor and fellow Pacific Northwest author Sherman Alexie, who also also just published his first children's book (and also dedicated it to his son).  Read the Times stoy here.

BARTHOLOMEW QUILL
